Get it together like your big brother Bob

Today I started my brand new job- and it was fabulous!
The job is literally perfect for me. I have enough experience to be comfortable, confident and get started- but I will definitely be learning a lot along the way. I have so much freedom, autonomy and room for creativity and a huge list of tasks that should have been started a long time ago- just how I like it! Ha ha ha.

My co-workers are fabulous- so much fun, they create a great office dynamic. We even IM back and forth from our offices- which makes me feel like I am at home with Kait.

The commute is fairly terrible- but I will figure that out soon. All the other great things easily make up for that.

Wahoo!!!

Plus- Our song was playing when I got in the car, I only got lost once for a few minutes on the way home, my Victorias Secret catalog finally came today, and Jo and Ali just called inviting me over for the maiden voyage of Jo's new shisha. What a great day!

We have a puppy!

Yesterday could have been the end for a beautiful Katrina survivor.
But now it won't be.
Baron. The new addition to our household.
A 4 year old Wiemaraner (I'm not going to lie, I am still rather unsure of the pronunciation of the breed, sometimes embarassing...). Pure-bred. Beautiful. Sweet. Scared. Poor guy has been through a lot in the last few weeks.
Judging by the looks of him he came from a very loving family. But you can't keep a dog if you don't have a home. He was surrendered to the shelter by his owner. But because of the influx of pets from Louisiana they were going to put him to sleep yesterday. But not anymore. Yay!

Patience:

How much is one person required to have?
I used to think I had a lot. I am thinking that I might need a little more.
When working with people who don't have patience, strike that, when working with anyone,

expectation setting & COMMUNICATION

are key.

Difficult? I think not.

Television rules the nation

Last night I watched a rat eat tapioca pudding out of the mouth of a boy. It was one of the most vile things I have ever seen. I think I am a worse person for having witnessed it.
It doesn't help that ever since watching The Bone Collector rats have really freaked me out. I know others are with me here- Jen?

The things that entertain some people dumbfound me.
I liked not having tv. Yeah- sometimes I got confused when people would talk about what happened on the apprentice, or discuss the desperate housewives drama by character name, but those situations were suprisingly few and far between. It is always nice to know things like when a storm is heading your way or that a new movie is supposed to be really scary before you agree to go see it with a friend. But is it really worth it?
No one should be subject to that kind of torture.

Ah- foiled again!

I linked it wrong. No wonder I confused everyone. Well- I guess even if I linked it correctly it might have been confusing. But I fixed it. This is my true destination!
This page has handy links so you can learn and become a modern major general too! I love wikipedia.

Then I can write a washing bill in Babylonic cuneiform

now that I know what it looks like (not to mention how/when it was created, what effect it had on the world and a slew of other fun facts) I am sure I could figure out how to write a washing bill.
Check!
I am on my way!
