I heard this song today... I hear it a lot... but it struck a chord.

So this is Christmas
And what have you done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
And so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young

A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear
And so this is Christmas
For weak and for strong
For rich and the poor ones
The world is so wrong
And so happy Christmas
For black and for white
For yellow and red ones
Let's stop all the fight
A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear
And so this is Christmas
And what have we done
Another year over
And a new one just begun
And so this is Christmas
I hope you have fun
The near and the dear one
The old and the young
A very merry Christmas
And a happy New Year
Let's hope it's a good one
Without any fear
War is over over
If you want it
War is over
Now...
-John Lennon

May 2005 bring peace and comfort to all.

Maybe we are idealists Marianne, but at least we don't sit around waiting for things to happen and complaining about things we refuse to take action on.
You have to respect people that follow their dreams and beliefs with passion and fury... no matter what they may be.

It finally snowed last night

It finally snowed!
Well, if you want to be picky, it snowed a few times already... but barely at all, and it didn't stay for more than a few hours.
I am crossing my fingers that this time it will stick.
I have had Christmases that were not white before, but they were warm... very different. I don't mind the cold quite as much if there is snow. It makes everything so pretty... :)

BTW- what is with my worthless (or non-existent, pick which is worse) blogging lately? I am boring myself...

and me with almost all my Christmas shopping done...

Here is one gift that no one on my list will recieve. I may have less friends on Dec 26th; if only I would have known about it sooner.

My pile of wrapped gifts is growing under our tree. I just finished adding a few more. Can't wait to give them out!

It should be an interesting holiday season. (I like it when Roudy calls it the HollyDays, he he he). We shall see what Father Time has up his sleeve for the end of 2004.

I'm not a stalker, I'm just interested!

Sometimes I feel like I know people from reading their blogs, even though we have never met. I recall specifically the first time I met Cat, in October at the Madison RoKS (new name for YES for you Alumni):
Me: "Cat... didn't you used to have a weblog?"
Cat: "Yeah..."
Me: "I think I read that"

How creepy am I? But I guess that is the whole point of these things, although sometimes I start to think about it and it weirds me out. But I guess a lot of things do that...

Anyway- I hope I don't creep any of you bloggers out when I meet you for the first time and know the details of your life already. And I will try not to be creeped out in return :)

For a good laugh:

My friend Kristin sent this to me. I found it quite amusing. Things like this always make me wonder who has time for this stuff? To sit down and figure out that these can go together quite amusingly. Maybe some poor father watching barney with his kids with headphones on... mumken...

I retract the previous statement.

Will someone please flick me in the nose?

Saturday, December 04, 2004

Uhg, a long night at a thankless job.

Do you ever feel like you just want to flick someone in the nose? I think that sends a powerful message. "Quit being an idiot" kind of thing. Tonight I really wanted to do that to a few people at work. But thinking that I might get fired (well probably not, they love me too much), I refrained. And chose to flash them a winning smile and say "Have a great night!" Didn't quite get the same effect, oh well.
Sometimes people amaze me. They just don't get it. But I am sure people think that about me sometimes too "that girl just doesn't get it".
Oh well, we can't all be perfect.

Things that ease the frustrations: a free beer at the end of a long shift; getting a message from a friend you haven't talked to in a while and calling back to find them hammered. Call me tomorrow, and have fun. ;)

Good night!

Freezing? You haven't lived my friend.

We dropped Roudy off at the airport this afternoon. But not until after we toured the Mall of America where we had a dance-off, a skee-ball tournament, met a random Israeli, and played with Legos.

I am a little disappointed in the performance of my fair state this weekend, however. Roudy had never seen snow, and I really wanted it to snow for him. It snowed a little bit, so he did get to see it, but barely anything and it didn't last. I think that if it had snowed more though he would not have been able to handle it. It isn't even very cold at all here for this time of year. Other friends in Egypt, like Thea, are shedding tears because it is 15 C there and flabergasted that we can survive in what is currently roughly -10 C. My poor warm weather brothers and sisters, come to Minnesota and experience the true meaning of freezing. But not now. Wait until it gets really cold.

Wait for Ice Fishing. Which, incidentally is January 28-30. Mark it on your calendars now!

Thanks Roudy! I had so much fun! And don't forget about my Kuwaiti Prince! I expect good news soon. Claude O. sends his love.
