On the bonnie bonnie banks of loch Pomme de Terre
Yesterday was the first day that we have been at the cabin that I got home when it was still light out so Connie and I decided to celebrate by taking ourselves and the shisha on a sunset pontoon stroll around the lake. Should be an easy enough little adventure, right?
Not for us.
Had some trouble starting the pontoon as it hadn't been ran in a while- after the 3rd time we got it started we decided to quick start moving hoping that it would stay running. Well, it didn't. Motor died about 50 ft from the dock. Then the engine wouldn't do anything when I tried to start it.
(I found out later that it is because I didn't take it out of gear when it died. Sorry Con.)
The current carried us to my neighbors dock- from there we tried to walk the boat along the shoreline and back around our dock onto the boat lift. This was all quite comical- but nothing too tragic. Until *plop* my phone falls out of my pocket and into the lake. Two screams can be heard throughout the peninsula.
There was a baywatch-esque ripping off of my clothing- luckily we had both worn our swimsiuts in case we decided to swim- and I dove in after my precious phone. I jumped out of the water once I had rescued it and we tag-teamed as Connie baywatch-ran into the house to attempt to resesitate our victim.
Thanks to quick thinking, Connie took apart the phone and left it out to dry and it kind of worked this morning.
Our shisha attempt on the deck didn't fare much better I am afraid. It was windy, the shisha sucks, and coals kept flying into Connie's drink.
We surrendered ourselves to the elements and decided to head upstairs to watch a movie. I fell asleep right away marking the first time in months- I really can't remember- that I went to bed before midnight.
With a solid 9+ hours of sleep under my belt you'd think today would be a better day... right?
Awaiting more adventures....
